The 905 Back Plate Error is the earliest engraving error known on small size $1 Federal Reserve Notes. The error was the result of an engraver omitting the first digit 1 of the plate number. The Back Plate should have been engraved with the number 1905. There are no BEP Reports are available to document this error but it is believed that these notes were printed between September and October 1975.
Reported known blocks are AA, BD, CB,DA, FD, GB, HA, LB and J star.
